I had 2gb of 3200 corsair xms in my system in 4 512 pieces.
But I have decided to remove 1gb of it and give it to my brother since I am not really making use of the extra gb. So I remove 2 512 sticks from the mobo. Now when I look at CPU-Z under the Memory tab, under the General section, next to "Channels #" it says Single instead of Dual. If I have two pieces of ram still in my system shouldn't I be running in dual channel mode? Is dual channel better than single? and how would I go about getting it to dual again.

Dual channel only works when the RAM are in the right slots.

Put the sticks in the same color slots if they are different colors. If not, try slot 1&2.
