My wife has several little games that she has downloaded online that she likes to play. But, recently, she hasn't been able to. Anytime you try to open one, you get this message:

16 Bit Windows Subsystem

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.
The system is nto suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

We never had any problem playing them before. And, no, I didn't notice which update was installed before it happened. She finally mentioned it to me the other day, but it had been a couple of weeks since she had played any of them (or longer).

Any ideas on what is going on, and how to remedy it?

Thanks.

mlr,

Thanks! I had no idea how to phrase it for Google, and really didn't think it would help. The first link got me into a forum, and I drilled down until I found an answer.

Problem solved!
