OK which system should I get????

OK I am thinking about buying a new system tomorrow. SO i hope I get some replies tonight!


OK so here are the two configs I made up.

Things that are important to me in my computer is:

10000 RPM RAID config

PCIe

and 800mhz FSB

Some things I am tossed up about is:

DDR2 vs DDR???

AMG 929pin vs intel 775pin ???

and going 64bit vs NO 64 bit...??


Processor speed as long as its 2.4ghrz And up is ok with me... I dont think clocking is that big a deal really.


With that in mind... these are the two configs I have made up....

This one has intel 3gig
and the mb supports ddr2 AND ddr...

and I am thinking about installing 512ddr2 in this set up. Its a little bit more expensive too.. then the second config.


also for another 40$ I could upgrade the CPU to be 64bit???
SO I want some opinions on that...

BUT non of the amd MB have DDR2 capabilities!

but it is a little cheaper...

ANd isnt this AMD cpu already 64bit???*I'm not sure*

going with amd with DDR would save me overall about 150-200 bucks.. Plus I have heard amd is better for games??? This will be a gaming pc...

Oh yeah for another 49 buck I could upgrade the video cards to 6600 GT 128 MB

Yeah upgrade the video card for sure.

AMD may not have DDR-2 support but they are still on the top with memory peformance.

Also AMD do not really have a FSB

Personally I would go for the AMD, but PCI-E should not be that important for you. PCI-E has no speed advantage over AGP (unless running dual graphics cards) in the real world.

I would avoid DDR 2 for the moment, as it is too epensive for the small speed gain you get over DDR ram. and the onboard memory controller on amd's gives them the performance gain over the ddr2.

get the 6600gt as the standard 6600 isnt worth the price.

I wouldnt get the foxconn motherboard, get ABit, ASUS, DFI or MSI.

I would go with the amd too. with the above adjustments.
