dodgy keyboard

i have a microsoft keyboard and when i press shift and 2 i get the @ sign not the " and vice-versa i reinstalled the software for it but this did not solve the problem

you are supposed to get the @ sign when u press shift+2. unkles you have a diffent keyboard layout

i have a uk keyboard layout cos i am in the uk ,

i had this same problem when i was using an old keyboard on a newer computer. the keyboard wasn't that old and had a ps2 connector but it still behaved strange. can you plug the keyboard on a usb port? i would just try another keyboard if thats not possible.

however i had to reformat my hard drive but before i did it, it
was fine
