ATI x300 PCIE help! please

i have a soltek 989 mobo and i put a powercolor ati pcie card in
i get a display but when i install the ati control pannel and catlyst
software my comp locks up!! I made sure I had all the latest drivers. any help would be great!

try diff driver ... for the video card?

hmmm try a diff brand driver like omega.. or something if not then try using the video card on a diff comp nad if it works on a diff comp ten its ur mobo .... if it dont work then it probably is the card...and if it dont worjk on a diff comp then try a diff card like another ati or retrun it it might be damaged.. u never know

One thing i do know about ATI and the new catlyst drivers is this.

YOU MUST HAVE Microsoft .NET Framework Installed on your system before installing the New Catlyst Drivers and Control Panel.

Procedure.

Uninstall old Cat. and ATI drivers.
Restart
INstall Microsoft .NET Framework
Restart
INstall New Cat. drivers and Control Panel
Restart

I just went through this with a buddy of mine. He was having the same problem with locking up the system.

This procedure worked like a charm. Hope it helps you.

I said screw ATI and bought a Nvidia pcx5750. Installed fine! Thanks for the replies
