Hi there everybody

Just a quick question, I'm setting up a spare computer for mucking around on and i wanted to hook up an old webcam i have. i dont have the capture card that cam with it (broken) but i noticed that the video card thats in the computer seems to have a port tha supports a web cam and i was just wondering if its possible to hook the webcam upto the vido card and if it is what software would i need

Video Card: Nvidia geforce4 mx 440
Web cam cam with a leadtek winfast capture card i think

thanking you in advance for any help anyone can give me on this problem

well, I've never heard of a webcam that needs a strict card to run, they usually come in standard usb, or network.... hmmm the things I don't know. Anyway, if you grafx card has the input to support your webcam by all means, just pick up a little program microsoft puts out called vidcap. It may have a different name now, but it's just a basic capture program. Check it out.

if im understanding correctly, that will not work...

the plug on your broken capture card was for 'vid input'. the plug on the geforce is 'vid output'.

i dont now anything of web cams(i never used one) but id imagine a new one would be pritty cheap, and prolly connects threw usb.
