xp balloons

I have been using Xp for 6 months now......can anyone tell me how to turn off the beginners balloons.....i.e. the ones that show new programs installed, and show initial inetrnet connection etc.

The easiest way is to just right-click on the balloons when they come up and set the settings associated with them.

Go to taskbar and start menu, customize, advanced, uncheck "highlight newly installed programs"
