is this too high a temp?

No way any processor of this day and age would become unstable from a 40mhz clock increase. Just slowly increase the FSB and reboot each time. As soon as Windows becomes unstable, then you go back to the BIOS and slowly increase the vcore. Keep in mind that once the vcore starts to increase, so will your temperatures, so be careful and monitor your temperatures.

Nothing very severe can happen, the worst would be your CPU reaching a dangerous temperature and shutting down to prevent damage, in which you would just flash your CMOS to correct the problem.

well so far i've gotten it up to 3150 (225x14) without needing to raise the vcore. all seems stable for now. i ran pcmark04 and got a score of 4733, which is just about 1000 points more than i got from it stock.

i'm going back in for more :D

EDIT
i just realized that my vcore is automatically adjusting to the cpu's needs. i haven't touched it and it's already at 1.34v. stock i think it was around 1.1-1.2. is this good or bad?

btw, i got it up to 3234, temps are idle at 41 c
