well, i wouldn't go as far as to throw it out...

i mean...of course i'm willing to take it if you're gonna trash it anyway.



but, because you stuck that pc2100 stick in...your system will fluctuate to the lower speed...so your pc2700 sticks have now gone down to pc2100 speed.

you should always keep your newer sticks..the same speed or get faster speed just to keep it running as fast as it can.

well ok guys- i've asked for a stick of 512mb PC3200 ram for my birthday like you guys suggested instead of my current lower speed PC2700. Thanks

okay - today's my birthday, and i got the PC3200 ram, and i've installed it and it's working great so far. On startup it showed Memory Speed at 333, which is PC2700 speed, so thats just like you guys said. Thanks!

I had a Samsung 128MB 2700 and a Infenion 512MB 3200 and there is not much difference.
