modeling or gaming the AMD 4000+ will dominate them completely. People say 'Intel for modeling' but that's rubbish considering that thing is roughly equivelant to a 4GHz intel which doesn't even exist. Beyond that if you plan on overclocking your system will have no problems handling whatever you throw at it
Thank you, I was aganizing to say those words everytime I read a post.

Now,
$1500 to spend, and you've got the monitor, this is good.
So we've decided on the 4000+ (good choice).
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-497&depa=0 - That is $655
-------------------------------------AGP DIRECTION----------------------------------
Abit AV8 Motherboard (serve you well, I use it, plus uGuru for OCing) Some will reccomend Neo2 Platinum by MSI, but either one is good. I have this one and it works fine.
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-127-181&depa=1 That is $110
eVGA 6800GT, easy OC to ultra speeds so save you some money. Plus it is a great card. (Don't go ATI, unless you want to wait a month)
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-130-203&depa=1 - That is $380
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------PCI EXPRESS DIRECTION-------------------------
MSI SLI equipted MOBO
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-130-487&depa=1 - thats $190
eVGA 6800gt (ocable to ulta, again) pci express version
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-130-215&depa=1 - that is $430
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Corsair XMS Ram, I can also vouch for this, and this isn't a bad price for a GIG (which will do well for what u want to do with it). Also, the mobo i gave has 4 dimm slots, you can always add 2 more of theses if you need it.
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-145-450&depa=1 - that is $194

That is all I can advise for now, I'll edit this post later with more, but I am in a hurry. The PCI express will let you upgrade to SLI later if you please, but the AGP version is still insane. Here are your totals so far, and you can see you will need a bit more $$$ for the SLI (Don't listen to these people when they say go to 6600gt for SLI, you will wish you had 6800gt very quickly...):::
AGP Setup Total: $1340
PCI-E Setup Total: $1469
Good luck.
