I would get a different case and a different Motherboard. i heard so many bad things about ECS. and why the 60mm fans?

The case is to match his current drives--so is there any reason to not-get that one besides it's not all too pretty/fancy? That, the price, and it having the fans on the front/back only.

The Mobo he just got because a friend had one, but you make it sound worth changing...do you have any suggestions on a good brand?

Yeah, you really need a better mobo. Brands to trust are Abit, MSI, DFI, Asus. Dont get any mobo unless its one of those brands. I personally sugest the Abit AG8 or AG8 Third Eye. Even a Abit AV8 3rd Eye would work fine. For RAM, i would go with something a little better.

For those 60mm fans, never get a case that has anything under 80mm fans. Besides that 60mm fans dont have great CFM, they arent very big. You dont have a video card either.
