whats a good tempature for my computer to run at?

have a amd xp 2500 40gb hdd and a radeon 9600 agp card

also how can i see what tempature my comp is running at i can see it in bios any way to see it in windows? thnx
 
There are numerous programs that will display temperatures of all sorts of devices, although I don't know how accurant they all are.

I personally use motherboard monitor and it seems to work just fine.

Basically, any temperature above 60 degrees is a bit iffy, if you are in the 40s or lower you have absolutely nothing to worry about though.
 
your CPU shouldn't go above about 65 degrees Celcius, it should be 50 or below ideally
your GPU shouldn't go above 70, it should be 50 or below ideally

you need thermal sensors to measure your temperatures, which you can buy at a lot of places and even come with some coolers
 
First, get a new heatsink. I have an XP 2800+ and when i hit the on button it went up to 55. Volcanoes are good. Normally mine will stay in the 50's while playing DOOM3.

I have an
XP 2800+
WD 40Gig
WD 120Gig
CDR/RW
And a couple of cold cathodes
 
um.... i have a question i have a Xp2700 and my temp is starts 74c and goes up to 87c i need it to go down i have a lot of fan thier all good but i need it to go down. someone help me plz.
