Uprgrading sound cards worth it?

Hey, right now I have Soundblaster pci128 card, hooked up to a an 80 watt sub and speakers. I was lookin around at some of the 24 bit creative and turle beach cards. I dont know what the specs of my card are, but would upgrading to one of those make a noticeable difference in the sound quality, and if so which cards do u reccomend for up around 50 bux.

well why do you want to upgrade the sound card?
are you planning to do professional music?
Turtle beach cards are kinda cheap

juss stick with SB, if you don't plan to make any type of professional music.

if you are juss listening to music or playing game with sound, you won't notice the difference

and if you really plan to upgrade
get Audigy Platinum

if you want to upgrade, it is not really worth getting any more than an Audigy LS, unless you have money to burn and really want 7.1 sound

Went from a crapper to 1 of these in my in car pc system.. difference was unreal... specialy with the 2kwrms 7.1 system i got in there.

i have the audigy 2 zs, couldn't belive the difference it made. the sound is so clear- i can hear it in any part of house and outside it.

any thoughts on the turtle beach santa cruz...?

thats the one im leaning towards right now, just because a friend reccomended it but i dont have the chance to actually test it.

turtle beach is a cheap brand, don't take it
they have a 5.1 turtle beach for $30, that tells you something

if you get the turtle, you won't hear the difference
