i was curious as to what an additional fan would do to the temperature inside my case, and my cpu, so i installed one, went to BIOS, when i discovered...

my case is 25*Celsius average (23 sometimes, 27 sometimes)

and my CPU is constant around 58*Celsius.

ive browsed around google, and, is that CPU temp too high? i know the case is pretty normal.

btw, ive got an amd athlon 2400 (2.0ghz, stock, not oc'd)

For that processor itself, that seems a little high. I take it your taking about socket A. I know those run cool, i would think 60 degrees celcius would be to hot for them. So your rite around there. Over all your temps are fine. It has alot to do with the case. Along with the cases fans. Position of the fan and their speeds. You can never count on stock cooling. What kind of case do you have?

Although, socket A is old. So modern games and applications stress the cpu more. This gos hand to hand with your other hardware.

i dont play games, or do anythign remotely stressfull on the PC.

ive got this stock ATX case the computer shop gave me. lol.

i had problems with overheating last year, but the cpu fan was clogged up. i think im going to buy a new HSF and add another fan.

speedfan shows 60-62*C

Im not sure about the processer, but have you dusted inside your case lately?
