graphics cards go in the AGP slot, looks like the PCI slots but brown and further back.

Also down load Everest (http://www.lavalys.com/products/download.php?pid=1&lang=en&pageid=3), that should tell you what you've got in your PCI slot, along with absolutely everything else you need to know. Chances are you're already using a PCI graphics card...

What does the unitentified card look from the back (what plugs does it have)? It is an odd looking card. What markings are on it?

Thanks for the links, I've been looking for tools for identifying mysterious hardware. Do you know of any that will run from a bootable CD or floppy?

That thing looks like a very old modem. Dunno what RAM u have though. take it out and get a picture of it.

Yeah think ure right...looks like an old modem...not CNR.

My bro has a refurbished Packard Bell with a large, what looks like oversized AGP slot, which had a modem card in it.
