SATA HDD and IDE HDD in same PC

will this arrangement affect Speed?
I have a new 36gig WD Raptor and an older 20 gig IDE HDD. Will this slow down the Raptor? How would I configure them? Thanks. I am building my second, First computer! I have a DVD burner and DVD rom also. Any help needed. I want to put my OS on the Raptor

I'm pretty sure it shouldn't affect you. The Raptor spins at 10k rpm, no matter what, and therefore will be faster. Plus the SATA drive is gonna use a different controller altogether. Good call on putting the OS on the Raptor, it's generally a good idea to put the OS on a fast drive.
