i have 2 problems i need help with.......

first off....

i have an 80 GB harddrive and i previously had win2k on it...it had many problems so i reformatted and now i only have 76 GB free space..this is after i deleted primary, extended, and dos partitions and reformatted...any suggestions...

Also...when i setup XP not all the files can copy...about 20 files cannot copy and if i hit enter too many times i get a blue screen error....any suggestions?????

thanks guys

When you reformatted, you still left remnants of stuff on that hard drive. You probably didn't f/disk it to make sure that it was completely clean.

And it sounds like your XP disk isn't a clean copy. That there is some damage to the disk. If that is the case, it won't copy over right. Liz

wut is the command to run the f/disk clean-up ?????

also..does any1 know wut the password is to use the win xp recovery on the cd...i have not even made a username yet...so no password has been established

Dear friend
It's normal to fresh formattting a 80Gb HDD only 76Gb available. Same as formatting a 40Gb HDD just get only 37GB.

have you tried scanning your hard drive for errors?

could explain your earlier problems and now xp won't copy all the files.

did you have this problem the 1st time you installed xp?

if so you might have some bad memory.
