missing or corrupt file at startup

i was wondering if anybody can help me with this problem.. when i try to start win2k i get this error messgae.... <windows 2000 root> system32\ntoskrnl.exe. <--it says that file is corrupt or missing...i was wondering if anybody knows how to fix that?? My computer was working fine b4 ....but after i did some of the windows updates and service packs i keep getting this error message and that blue screen error message

If you are able to run a "repair" with the OS disk then do that....

Stick in the disk and you will be prompted with a couple of options.

1. Repair
2. Brand spankin new install.

choose the repair.
It should figure out that its missing a very KEY bootup file and replace that file.
