Im planning to buy an external hard drive case (usb 2.0) and a 80gb hdd. Ive wanted one of them for ages. I ordered the case today. Cant wait to get the money for the hard drive. Finally i can backup my computer more often, and feel my data is actually safe. Has anyone else here done something similar?

lol no i bought it in a store.. its like a huge usb, so it runs @ usb 2.0 speeds

cool, the case i bought is usb 2.0 compatible which is good. The hard drive im putting in there is a seagate 80gb 7200rpm, 2mb cache, seagates are quiet and have like a 5 year warrenty

i want to use it at school, and there may be a problem because at school they only run windows 98, and usually we are not allowed to install drivers without special permission
