Celerons are weak CPU's. You'd have to OC it to like 4GHz to notice a difference :p

That's an exageration of course, but the main point is it'd have to be a hefty OC to notice any improvement. They aren't number crunchers.

CPUs are good these days about not frying.

I've put my motherboards max voltage of 2.225 Vcore through my CPU trying to get 2.8Ghz remotely stable lol

It's simply a matter of keeping them cool.

You keep it cool, OC'ing isn't a problem

yeah i ended up having to swap out my P4 2.6ghz cpu for this celeron at the last minute- i gave one lucky lady an even exchange because that P4 just wouldn't work on my mobo but this celeron would.

Your best bet is to forget OC with a Celeron and buy a Pentium 4 instead.

Then, after you recover from the speed difference, you can see about OC.

Better yet, drop the Intel and go AMD...

As they say, "You get what you pay for."

Hey, I can't diss anybody. I'm running an eMachine with an AMD 2000+ (1.67GHz). My mobo is so cheap that it can't OC. But it gets the job done, and it lets me play on the internet.

Yuck, if your getting something new, stay away from 2.4ghz Intels. At least 3.4ghz LGA775, or AMD64 3200 939. Trotter, i feel bad for you on that E machine.
