cd burner isn't happy

i just had a question...bout my cd burner obviously. if i put a cd in it, it opens up and closes a few times then just stays open. haven't had this problem before and ive never heard of it. (if u hold in the cd burner slow it stays closed and reads the cd after a few attempts but its very annoying at times..)

did you recently drop it? or pull on it??
maybe the gearing or lock got screwed...

sounds like something is posibly stuck in the sensor for the drawer it slides in an dout on

It's a sensor problem, i have the exact same thing on one of my sony cd players.

About it taking a few attempts to read the cd, can you elaborate? If their is other problems, it's alot more than just the sensor.

yeah, i hate sony cd burners. they have so many problems....not that you have one.

elaborate.. umm ok. if i put in a cd it pushes it back out. so i put it back in and hold it in... if it doesn't read the cd after that i take it out and put the cd back in with another button... and then hold it in and itll usually work.. its just getting very annoying...
but i haven't dropped it or any thing like that
