all built, but one problem

Thanks for the suggestions before, this system rocks!
I have never used a faster computer myself

....unfortunatly I do have one problem I was hopeing someone might have a suggestion or some insight on.

My CPU fan (retail P4 that came with chip) is way too nosiy
and seems to fluctuate in sound when I run apps that use the CPU. (more loud than the case fan)

I am not sure if they are known to be noisy, or if there is something wrong....it does not sound right to me
....I am a bit concerned with the fluctuation as well, but I have heard that they have auto speed adjust....?

any info would be great

P4 CPU stock fan sucks, they are you loud. i suggest you get another cpu fan if you want it to be quiet...

I was going to contact customer support at intel
...but if they are this noisy stock, I guess it will not do me any good

what about the fluctuation??...... is that normal??

this thing is really Loud!....I can hear it any where in the room
...but nothing seems to be rubbing

I was thinking it might quiet down with use...but not yet

The fluctuation is your fan running faster, because programs will make your CPU hotter by putting stress on it.

Yes, intel fans are "loud". However, until you have heard some of the monster fans like mine, you dont know what loud is

...let me guess,.....an overclocker

I have been looking at some of the fans and cooling for overclocked systems.....Insane!
you could loose a finger in one of those things!

I am not ready for the fast lane yet....I will just drive slow and hopefully quiet

I guess I will look for a new quiet fan
