Hi,

on my XP pro. I set the desktop wallpaper via control panel display, after applying and ok the desktop does change. However after a reboot I get just a blue screen as the wallpaper.

Can you help?

Is there a registry setting that is preventint a permant change?

All help welcome.

hi Liz,

I've made no changes recently.
The last change I made (about a 2 months ago) was to add a HP printer. I have changed the wallpaper since and it has worked.

I think thats somthing that has bin a problem with windows forever now is the active desktop somtimes shuts down or whatever it does and you lose your settings such as wallpapers and what not , I dont think theres a person here that cant say that hasnt happend , With the older windows like 98, ME comes to mind , I used to always have to restore the active desktop upon reboot , just a bug im guessing , never really figured it out .

Have you had to do a hard reboot recently ? that could have coused the loss of settings .
