i scaned my hadr drive and under the result/infection colum of the files kernel32.dll and user32.dll it says Change..
i looked through the help file but i cant find what this "Change" means, any one know?

any feedback would be apreciated.

Are you using AVGFree Edition? What Version>6.0 or 7.0?

Upgrade to AVGFree version 7 if you havnt already and apply the latest updates to get current.

It seems that if AVG found anything it would say more than "change". There should be information in the "object", "result", and "status" columns. There should also be a "details" button to view.

There should also be a "test report-more details" box. Pull as much as you can about any problems and check the Grisoft forums/web site for answers. You will have to search hard because that is the drawback with AVGFree Edition-no support. I seem to remember a FAQ and some detailed articles on the site for the Free edition.

I have the free edition 7.0
I mean AVG didn't find any viruses but
every time i run the scan those files always show up as change.

Norton Online

Go here and run an online virus scan it's free

http://norton.com/

Lower left corner security scan

Or try antivirus.com and thhey also have a free online scan

Then if there are No viruses uninstall and reinstall your AVG software

If you like my advise call some time for help:D

Hey 180MHZ

I found this info at Grisoft-see if it applys to you......

"several files indicate STATUS CHANGED" in the test report (eg: kernel32.dll, user32.dll, ntoskrnl.dll). After a microsoft update
makes changes to the above named files AVG will list them as
changed-this is not a virus condition. To remedy the problem do
the following......

Look in the root directory c:\ and delete the following files
AVG&DB_F.DAT and/or AVG7QT.DAT (these may be hidden files so change the folder options to "show hidden/system files)

After deleting the files, when AVG is restarted it will rebuild the
files and information (avg.dat files not the windows files) and
the "changed" message will be gone and should state "OK"
for the above listed Windows files.

"DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK" 180 but makes sense.

Delete the .DAT AVG file or files listed above
Restart AVG
Rescan your system
Windows .DLL files should now scan "OK"
"Changed" message gone.........

Let us know if this worked for you
