Help a dumb girl out - Spyware/Malware

Hey everyone - I think I have malware on my computer but I'm a little scared to mess with it myself. I found this guide -

Download Adaware Se Personal abd Spybot S&D, and CWShredder. What problems are you having and what makes you think you have malware?

My browser goes to a home page that I didn't choose, and I have two search bars in IE that I didn't install. And everything just seems slower.

I use Ad-Aware and it is really effective. What is Malware? Is it like spyware?

Grendel_Rose, What you need to do is follow the instructions in this thread: http://www.techist.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34713 And then post your HiJack This log in the HiJack Log (Analyze) Forum. A log reader will get to it as soon as possible. Liz
