Laptop or PC?

If you want your PC to be wireless enabled, all you will need is a Wireless Network card and wireless Router.

Pc.

hm...I'm not sure whether if my pc has a wireless card or router when I bought it, how do i check?

Thanks.

A router is what you use to connect multiple PC's to. A wireless router has an antenna poking out of it.

ie: cable modem > router > PC1, PC2, PC3

A wireless network card usually has an antenna coming out of it.

I still don't get it!!

Mine has no antenna but I remember seeing that PC1, PC2 thing.

What I thought is I can check it somewhere in the control panel?

yandaoben,

Unless you bought an office workstation, your PC does not have a wireless card in it.

Check out Newegg.com or ZipZoomFly.com to get an idea of what a card and a router will run you. Of course, you'll have to crack your case to install it. If that bothers you, look for a USB version.

you can also just buy wireless stations to plug in via usb . then install a driver, and it looks to the base station.

I see, thanks.

Btw, how much does a wireless router thing usually cost? Like average price. Do they come in different bandwidths? or it depends on my internet subscription?

Thanks.
