XPERT Memory from Corsair

Corsair Memory again raises the bar on enthusiast memory, with an intelligent memory module that monitors and displays critical performance parameters.

Dubbed XPERT, this new technology uses an integrated microcontroller and embedded
sensors to measure voltage, temperature and frequency on the memory module. Each
of these parameters, along with a user-programmable scrolling marquee can be shown
on a big alphanumeric display that is part of the memory module.

The Corsair XPERT modules being demonstrated also have two rows of memory activity LEDÂ’s that show real-time memory activity, similar to the popular Corsair PRO series.

The parametric display, as well as the message display, can be controlled from the Windows™ desktop using Memory Dashboard, a stand-alone application which provides the software component of this technology.

Using Memory Dashboard, the user can control which parameters are displayed, for what duration, in what order. It also allows the user to program scrolling message strings up to 68 characters long.

According to Corsair VP of Applications, John Beekley, “A substantial investment of engineering and manufacturing resources was required to bring this exciting technology to fruition. Corsair is very excited about the family of XPERT products that we will soon be bringing to market.”

The first memory products incorporating XPERT technology will be available on January 31, 2005.
