video card trouble

Ever since I installed my new Abit Av8 mobo and AMD Athlon 64, my Radeon 9600 XT keeps crashing whenever I play games like HL2 CS:Source and Rome: Total War. And JUST NOW when I was writing this post, the videocard restarted on me. I've installed all driver and windows updates. I'm thinking it got damaged in the process of replacing all the parts. Do you recommend replacing it, or what?

well the best way to make sure if it's the card or not is to test it out in another system if you can.

Is it actually giving you one of those Vram dumps or whatever those ATI's do when they crash?

It could be overheating? Try seeing what temp its running at

it says .. VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands.
