Why does my system perform so poorly??
I get crappy frame rates in half-life 2 and cs:s and almost all higher end games that my system should be able to ace, why is this?
Theres nothing wrong with my video card so i think it might have something to do with the latencies throughout the motherboard.
I think im gonna change to an AMD 64 system but am not sure would would work best. any ideas?

and what drives and DirectX version do you have?

i should be able to play at the highest, but even at lowest it gets about the same. i have a standard cd drive, and directx 9.0c

I think he meant drivers, not drives.

I really see no reason to replace that system, and I can't really tell you what would be causing such low performance in games, but that really is unusual.

1) 6600GT is not the best choice for Source

2) You will see much more performance with a Winchester

well benchmarks say otherwise. and below 30fps is just rediculous

Throwing money at it doesn't fix problems, but its up to you.

3500+ should do you well, not sure about the mobo
