when every i start it my pc says that there was an error with services and controlers apps and asks me if i want to send a report if i say yes or not when it is down it comes up with another thing that tells me to save everything becuase it will shut down in 60 seconds. when the timer runs out the box dissapears and it runs normaly but a little slow. then randomlly,(once while i was trying to back up stuff(aprox 2 min), once after i was done(aprox 20 min)) it will go black and go to my start up screen please help me my dad is sick of me being on his computer :p

Sounds like something got seriously messed up. If someone was messing around with the windows services and disabled a few of them without knowing what they were doing then you could have caused your computer to really go under.

From what you've describe it would seem the best course of action would be to format =/

lol the good ole days.

Could be spyware, virus's, things of that nature then

Use adaware AND spybot: search and destroy, not just one or the other use both, make sure you update the definitions and run them to get any clutter off your computer.

Also try www.pc-cillin.com for a free virus scanning.

Somehow the services got messed up and that = major problems as I'm sure you know.

If you scan and nothing is fixed then like I said, unfortunately you'll probably have to format. :(

Right click on 'My Computer' then go scroll down to 'Manage'.

Then goto 'System Tools' and then 'Event Viewer'.

Inside 'Event Viewer' you will have the options of 'Applications', 'Security', and ' System'. Go through each of those to determine whether or not there are any "Red Xs" or "Warning Signs" in the any of those areas. If there are let me know and we can figure it out.

If there isn't anything in the event viewer, it may be a memory issue. Download and run 'Memtest86' from here.

Burn that to a floppy and reboot. Then let it run through the patterns to determine if it is a memory error. Random reboots and sporadic reboots are most likely the product of bad RAM or memory bearing hardware. For example: video card or RAM.

First, read into the Event Viewer and tell me if you find anything that draws your attention.
