Hard drive question

I have this old HD its a maxtor dx540x , its ata100 2meg cache 5400 rpm , i want to put it in as a secondary/slave but want to know if its going to slow my other hard drive down wich is a ..WD 80 gig ata 100 8 meg cache 7200 rpm ... I was thinking since they are both ata 100 that things would be just fine , what do you guys think?

You can install it as a slave and you won't notice any performance diffrences except if you try to read from both drives at the same time. But that is only if they are on the same cable. If there on diffrent ones go right ahead you won't notice a thing.
