6600 GT or 6800?

I would just buy a single 6800GT now so you can concentrate on getting good parts for the rest of the PC. Down the line you can add another 6800GT.

Also gigabyte has a dual core 6600GT, which is very nice. Search google for dual core gigabyte 6600GT

you'd be surprised how much difference SLI makes

the lack of performance in some benchmarks is because the CPU limits the cards. I've seen it happen, where in some benches the SLI is gets double that of a single 6800, and some there is no difference because of CPU limitation.

*edit* the parts I listed are still really good, and overclockable enough to be better than the best stock parts
