is that normal?

my friend got a NICE pc, for free, now one of his hard drives literally spun its self apart!

just wondering if that was because it was installed wrong or something.

Overclocker, that dont sound good. I think your going to need a new one lol. Thats usually what happens when people just give away computers.

Same thing happend with a WD today. Ok, it just didnt spin, it ceased.

I had a problem with my WD once. The head fell right off the arm and was flying around inside. A really neat noise.

Its just old and overworked

that is to do with the hard drive itself

it's better to get a good quality hard drive to start with, and it'll last a long time

Seagate and Western Digital seem to be best for quality. I personally like Seagate

Yeah I agree, except that I use Western Digitals.

Having said that i've got an old 10Gb IBM disc drive thats now 7 years old and still going strong.
