Hello friends,

I'm a first time novice looking to build a system for my sister on a budget. Below I have a list from newegg containing the components I've selected. I was hoping someone might shed some light on how this system looks as a whole, and whether or not these components compliment each other.

My sister does not really have any high-end gaming demands, just somethin solid, functional, and affordable. Cost saving substitutions would be particularly appreciated. I just want to keep it above the pre-packaged, entry to mid-level "Dell" if you know what I mean.

Thanks!
John

how about a different motherboard with intergrated graphics instead on wasting money on a g/c that isnt really worth it.

maybe a bit more on the case/psu as i know i would not want one blowing up on me.

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you have any suggestions for a board? I'm not sure that I understand how to identify whether or not a board has integrated graphics. If I were to keep this board (or a comparable one) what type of gc would go well with it.

Thanks again.

thats a good setup for a budget system. one thing you need to know...as much as it pains to say it as a budget guy myself...don't buy OEM's or refubished items...you dunno whats wrong with it and you would be better off paying the extra few bucks than worrying about the risks. I am sure a company like Newegg.com would give you money back if something broke or didnt work...but it is better paying the $10 or $20 extra.

oh one more thing.....you can build a basic application system for $500 or better, it all depends on what your sister wants to do with it.
