3500 worth extra £70

im looking at either a 3200 for £130 (GBP) or a 3500 for 190 (GBP) a difference fo £70 now im gettin a xp120 big ass heat sink because i am goin to o/c, and both these are the winchesters. Is the 3500 really worth the extra cash or will both cpus top out at about the same speed? Im looking to get it upto about 2.6-2.7 and further if possible.

The 3500+ will obviously overclock at a higher frequency, but the 3200+ will have a larger overclocking pontential than the 3500+.

In laymens terms, the 3500+ will run at a higher frequency, but the 3200+ will OC a lot more.

Personally i'd pick the 3200+...

The 3000, 3200, 3500 all top out ~ the same speeds from what i've read. I don't like to buy the lowest or highest end option...i''m a middle man so 3200+

I agree, theirs nothing wrong with the 3200. I know the 3500 price has ran down around 100$ the last 3 months. You can find it for 260$, witch is pretty damn cheap. Just, make sure you get a socket 939 3200. If you get a 754, well then take advantage and get the Clawhammer.

get the 3200 it rocks i got 3800 speeds stable with stock hsf and no voltage tweeks. get it now

doubtful you will NEED it, but hey if you get bored and want a fun hobby it's available.

You dont need to, but its a good idea. Have you thought about what cooling system setup your going to have? Thats always fun.

well i was gonna use a xp120 and a case that has 2 120mm fans 3 80mm fans and the psu has another 120mm fan so gonna be quite cool, was thinking of investing in a fan controler aswel
