i dont know a lot about monitors,
I bought a LG 1710m coz it was cheap and i had a budget with my comp and that was all i could afford  and I vowed never to go back to a chunky eye straining CRT after i got my first 15" lcd.

What does it mean by response time as in 16ms or 25ms n such..
I've never known but have always wanted to know lol..

Also one question, AA is always a factor when u see benchmarks in reviews n stuff...
i know its anti aliasing but what exactly does it do ??

The responce time is something that shouldn't be taken too seriously. Since there is no standardised way of testing it. While it can be said that a lower responce time is good (im using an 12ms monitor) they should not be taken as fact.

LCDs should be compared by contrast ratios (Higher the beter) and brightness values. It may also be worth looking at using a DVI input to the monitor since the signals produced by your graphics card are nativily digital.

Groups such as the IEE, IEEE and ISO are looking to produce a standardised way of testing the monitors.
