hi everyone,
i'm hoping you can help me with a problem i'm having with my monitor.
basically it resizes the desktop area every time i start my system up.
eg. cutting off the edge of the desktop area etc.
wondering if anyones had this problem / knows how to fix it!
any help would be greatly appreciated!

joe

nah you set it manually via an on-screen menu, the numbers on the menu stay the same, even when the screen changes position.
Just ordered myself a new graphics card to replace my knackered old SiS6326 (don't laugh!), i have a feeling it may have been causing the
problem

cheers,
joe

i'm not trying to do anything spectacular with it, just need to fix this
damn problem! haha
not gonna be spending hundreds of £s on a new card, just need it to
do the job!
thanks for your sugestion mate, much appreciated,

joe

it's already at 60Hz :S
don't think i can put it any lower than that!
i'm running in 1280 x 1024 res. will that cause a problem as oppose
to using 1024 x 768?

thanks,
joe

Your monitor should have a set resolution which it will work best at, any higher than it and your screen will become unviewable, and any lower and the screen will not properly fit the monitor.

You can try updating the drivers in the video card, and check to see that the monitor is connected properly and that none of the pins are bent or broken off.

You can also check the GPU temperature, but I doubt that's the issue.

thanks!
like i said just oredered a new graphics card, so that should eliminate
that being the problem. i've got the latest monitor drivers, the graphics card ones won't be an issue in a couple of days. just gonna turn my pc off to check the pins!

cheers,
joe

oh yeah and my display options are set to only display resolutions my monitor can use so that rules that out.
