HT/FSB and RAM frequencies

OK, if your RAM is at a lower frequency than your FSB, will it be automatically overclocked to match (In the same way that my RAM is currently underclocked to 333mhz (see below))?

In particlular, my friend is considering investing in a Socket 939 setup, i.e using the direct hypertransport thing between the CPU and RAM- do the same princaples apply?

No, the RAM will not OC itself to match the FSB speed

The Merlin is correct, if the memory did infact overclock itself to match the FSB speed your memory would most likely melt from heat.
