A couple months ago, I had to replace the CD writer that came in my HP. I decided to upgrade to a dual layer DVD-R/RW. I purchased a Pacific Digital (Lite-On). It works fine except that my car stereo has trouble reading music CD's burned on this new writer. I never had a problem with CD's burned on the old unit, even using cheap off-brand CD's. Would it help to burn at a slower speed? I have Nero software. Is there a way to change the write speed? Other suggestions?

You can lower the speed of your drive while burning but I don't think it will solve your problem. You probably had an older version cd/rw that worked with your older car stero, now that you have a new burner, and a older stero, it might not be compatible. Is your DVD/RW and CD/RW also?
