cpu fan cut off

I have installed a athlon 2.8 64 in a asus k8v se and recently when I boot I have noticed that the cpu fan shuts itself off after a short whil,I have disabled the cool and queit in the bios so I cancelled that one out,I connected the cpu fan to another fan point on my mobo to test and everything runs fine,but as soon as I connect it up to the appropriate cpu fan point it shuts down again any ideas ? myself I think it may be a powerpack problem as the fan runs fine from elsewhere,but I may be wrong.

Try going back into your bios and reset the setting to default. It seems like it might be something in your bios due to the fact that it works for a short time. Just make sure that you know which settings to switch back after restoring the default settings.
