usb problems with artec scanner

hi can anyone help me im trying to get my artec ultima 2000 scanner to work i have installed the correct drivers tried installing the drivers first then plugging in the scanner checked device manager no exclamation marks there but for some reason my pc wont detect a new usb device has been installed keep on getting the error message check led light is on and all wires are connected properly is there anything else i can do is there a program out there that detects ur usb devices i know the scanner works if anyone can help plz let me know cheers.

see if the manufacturer has some kind of scanner program, i know my inlaws scanner wont work unless it has the scanner program from cannon

Whats your operating system windows XP has a problem with older scaners if it is older.Try here if you need a driver
