Anti-Virus/Spyware Suggestions

Just get Mozilla Firefox. 100% Spyware Proof.

And that is TOTAL BS!!! I use Firefox and I STILL get spyware on mine due to checking logs and I have all the protection I've mentioned above and run it almost daily. So to depend on JUST Firefox is to stick your head in the sand and hope for the best....don't do it.

i heard an av program called kaspersky (sp?) is more efficient

Firefox just dosent configure itself, you have to configure all of the settings on Firefox to your needs. I've been using it for 4 months, no spyware. I was skeptical about the anti-spyware thing but I was using Bazooka Spyware Detection and I have not received any spyware for 5 months. And im the type of person that looks for cracks and keygens.

it means that even though it is designed to remove spyware, it also gives you some

I got this program from a TV shows website. The Screen Savers they gave it a 10/10. Being its free and it works. I dont think they would promote/distribute a spyware laden program. I know that most of the other anti-spyware progs are affiliates of spyware developers.

Bazooka is NOT on the list of Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites, I checked it very carefully. I then went to the trustworthy list: Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites And on the more complete list, it is listed. SO I don't believe the accusations that it contains spyware. Liz

I think one of the problems we're running into on this thread is that apparently we have some people who think that their spyware blockers are privy to all spyware creations.

If you anti-spyware program doesn't know what to look for, it ain't going to find anything. These things aren't AI or human or something, where they can be looking for one thing, stumble on something else, and go "Hey, that might be spyware!" Hardly. Anything that doesn't meet the criteria, or isn't on some list of bad programs, gets ignored. You could easily have spyware you don't even know about and your anti-spyware program doesn't either.

And if you're a low-risk surfer, your chances for getting spyware are minimized no matter what program you use as a browser.
