fast proc, slow MB

I have an older processor that i no longer need, Its an amd 2800, 333 fsb. My moms MB says it can handle processors up to a 266 fsb. would there be any problems putting this processor on her old board and underclocking or is there no use, considering her board is older and may not even recognize it.

hmmm.. i just assumed that one, but i just checked her book. their both socket A

i think u should be fine if both the sockets are the same u really wouldnt even need to underclock i dont think...it will just go at whatever bus the mobo can handle...but im not really sure never used a newer cpu then the mobo can handle
