Some computers at my school have lcd monitors, and they are really bad. They are 17in, and they set the resolution to 800x600 and there all pixelised.

Thats due to the arsy techies. They set em at 800 x 600 just to annoy you. You work at home take it into college and every graphic you have designed looks five times larger on their machines.

LCD if you have money to buy a good one, limited space, or nastly glare from the lighting where you put the comp.

Otherwise CRT

When u say buy a good one what does that mean? I can go out and spend $500 on an LCD, but is that a good one?

Low Response time preferably at or below 16ms

High Contrast Ratio preferably above 600:1

For Brightness I would go better than 300

High Max Resolution preferably at or above 1280 x 1024

A high viewing angle is nice but depends more upon the user and what they think is acceptable.

Power Consumption and Weight depend more upon the user's environment and desire for portability.
