File Joiner problems

I have recently downloaded a program that was split usining a file splitter. when i downloaded and used the program to join the files, i am left with an unidentified file that is simply described as FILE in the properties section. is there a step i missed, or is the file just corrupted?

Whats the name of the file splitter? Why was the file split? Do you split the files and then try to join them back together? It might be corrupt or you might be going in the wrong order. As with Winrar, you can split them up, but to join them you need to go in the order the program asks you too.
