I just recently installed a new hdd on my hp computer. At first it was fine but on the second time i loaded it, after the hp screen comes, the screen is black and it takes about 1 minute till the message, DISK BOOT FAILUR, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER ,appears,. when i press enter( with out inserting disk), the computer loads windows and both hdd's are working fine.

I was just wondering why the first error message keeps popping up...
any help would be appreicited

thank you

jb

Make sure the primary HD (the one with windows or whatever OS your using) has a higher boot priority then the newer one, to do this go into your BIOS by hitting DELETE or F1 (whichever works) as soon as it starts up, go to the BOOT section and make your optical drive 1st or 2nd, Floppy 1st or 2nd, and the primary OS HDD as your 3rd drive, then the new one as your last or if you can dont even list it as a boot drive.

nah it was actually a 120 gb hard drive..... ibut its working for the time being after correcting boot priority.
thank you:)
