Win XP reboot loop after install AVG anti-virus 7.0 free edition

Hi to all,

I install AVG anti-virus 7.0 free edition on a win xp pro sp2. After the install, i update the virus list and AVG scan my computer and did not find anything. When i restart, my system is in a reboot loop, booting to win xp logo screen then blackout and reboot. I had to boot in safe mode and remove the anti-virus and everything gets back to normal.

Any clue to this one? AVG wont help me becaus it is a free edition.

maybe it replaced some system files with its own ones, which were incompatible with your system

the Antivirus I use is called Antivir Personal Edition

SP2 is known to be incompatible with a long list of programs and is known to get stuck in a continuous boot. I think that may be the problem.
