If someone had a win98se operating system and a win 2000 pro restore disk could they use the disk to upgrade that system so it can become a win 2000 pro?

I highly doubt it's possible but I thought I would ask.

Yes you can I had win 98 and used a XP restore and Im using it...

Did you notice any big differences? Did you need a reg. key?
