PCX5900 vs 6600GT

I would think the PCX5900 would do better than the 6600GT. Am I right in thinking this?

6600 GT is better.

It won't fully take advantage of the PCI-E bandwidth. On top of that the core is slower, and the memory is 100MHz faster in clock speed, BUT it's using GDDR2 Vram when the 6600GT is using GDDR3 which means the 6600GT will basically have it's way with that 5900

The 6600GT is a newer card ans support more features.
It also has at least a 14% perfromance difference between the PCX5900.

My main concern is price. I can't afford over $520 w/o shipping. I actually have to reduce it to a PCX5750 and that looks very nice for the buck once I overclock it. Would anyone suggest a better card coming under $120? I'm saving up for a 6800GT so maybe getting a cheap card that'll run things smoothly will be better.

Those are your options really for under $120, I personally think the 9600 Pro is the best card among those.

Why not just put the $120 aside until you are ready to buy what you want, rather than just wasting it on a temporary subsitute?

I need PCI-Express and I definately do not like integrated graphics plus my board doesn't come with those.

I would say go for a normal 6600 it much better than the PCX5750 and a X600PRO and fits in your price range.
