Jesus christ that was quick man. I just been shopping round and got a slightly higher Grand Total. I was trying to avoid OcUK if the price wasnt to big of a difference. I've ordered in the past and got an absolutely appalling service. So much so i felt the need to report them to the Department of Fair Trading. However, i would give them another go, this time using a CREDIT CARD, not a debit, tut tut, big mistake.

Here's what i came up with:

But anyway, ill have a browse over at OcUK now, see what's going on down there. With regards to some of the components....

Was wondering if the Heatsink or fan comes with the CPU if its (PIB) and not (OEM)?

Also would 2*74GB Raptors be better instead of 34GB?

And last question (for now :p) is what should the temperature of the CPU generally be? Or should be to be considered safe,

(really do appreciate this help btw :))

--If you can afford it

And last question (for now :p) is what should the temperature of the CPU generally be? Or should be to be considered safe,

--Max temperature is 70c for the fx-55 with a good heatsink like the xp 120 i recommend you will get about 35-40c stock around there

Was wondering if the Heatsink or fan comes with the CPU if its (PIB) and not (OEM)?

-- a oem cpu will not come with a heatsink while a Retail will come with a heatsink but it will cost more

--Where do you live? I first gave prices from newegg.com for US and now Overclocking.co.uk for Uk

You can also get a clear side window for you case but i could't find it as that site

Comes to 1405excl vat + 17.5% =

Grand Total 1650.875

While doing it so fast i forgot i add 2 6600gt's for Sli silly me so its
£ 1405 + £125 = 1530 + 17.5%

= Total £1797.75 (yes other places will be a bit cheaper but overclockers.co.uk has all the stuff you need

You don't have to go with that case :p Change it to whatever you like

Also you don't have to get a Hestsink seperate, a retail fx 55 will come bundled with quite a nice one :)

And for the Graphics card you should get 6600gt's in Sli which mean that you will run two graphics cards and the work load will be split between them to get better preformance.

Thanks , I'm here to help everyone :)

I live in the UK, so ill be buying in GBP :)

Im just looking into the CoolerMaster cases. Im thinking if i get one of those, and have the max fans possible attached to the case plus the heatsink that comes with the CPU (PIB) that should keep it cool enough? :p What do you think

Moja

(Ill post back asap with the coolermaster + fans) Just looking at em now

If he doesn't buy for a while, he can wait until the Radeon x850XT is availible to him, which will provide the best graphics performance availible.

Also, be sure to invest in some cooling. New heatsink and fan for the CPU, a PCI slot cooler for the video card, and a well placed fans should do the trick. Fan controllers are also a great idea.

Although it's not completely computer related, invest a bit of money in a surge protector, especially if you are putting together a $3000+ system, you want to make sure your parts are well protected.

I really like that case, the only drawback in my opinion is it only has 3 internal 3.5" slots, but it should still work for your purposes.

A 120mm intake at the front, and another 120mm exhaust at the rear should be a nice, cool, quiet setup, and another exhaust 80mm fan can be added to the top of things get too hot. Also, especially if you have the money to spend, I'd invest in a new heatsink and fan, and a fan controller to speed up or slow down all these fans if things get too hot, or too noisy.

Are the HeatSink's that come with the CPU genrally speaking not good?

Moja
